Who we are

Hello all, we’d like to introduce ourselves. Our names are Evie and Oscar we have over a decade of combined experience in the industry, in the Uk and New Zealand.

Now based in Totnes, we work with both residential and commercial clients to deliver practical, well crafted landscapes. From full garden transformations to ongoing maintenance. Whether its a new patio, structured planting, or traditional stone walling our focus is always the same: quality work that stands the test of time.

We specialise in low-maintenance, long-lasting garden builds using traditional English techniques with real life in mind.

As a small hands-on team, we take pride in doing things properly. No shortcuts, no rushed finishes, just honest work and attention to detail from start to finish.

If you’re thinking about improving your outdoor space, get in touch. We’re happy to chat through ideas.

BA(Hons) Marine and Natural History Photography

  • My life has always been lead by a love and need for knowledge surrounding the natural world.

I chose my degree at Falmouth University because of the amazing subject matter. I ended up doing a dissertation on re-wilding in the South-Hams, which is when I really found my passion for biodiversity.

But it wasn’t until we moved to New Zealand and I started working as a groundskeeper that I found my medium for assisting local wildlife through gardening. Also working as a gardener whilst out there helped me continue to explore the impact you can make on a small scale, for the residents and ecosystem.

I also work alongside Oscar on large stone masonry projects. There is nothing better than working with your hands to make something amazing that will stand for generations.

This is the energy I bring to Stone & Seed, honest work that wields great results for people and nature.

BSc(Hons) Horticulture: Garden and Landscape Design

  • I first realised landscaping and stone masonry was the occupation for me when working ten years ago at a Trebarwith-strand garden in Cornwall. The first of many gardens to inspire me but the one that started it all.

Five years later i took the leap to begin studying at the Eden Project. This focused my skills increasing my knowledge in plants and design, both professionally and practically.

‍Arriving in New Zealand was the continuation and growth into the stone mason i am today, through working on some of the best architectural builds in the South island.

Working on the other side of the world not only brought experience, but gave Evie and i the opportunity to work as a team. Building the foundation of Stone & Seed.
